The film was made based on a trip that the director, Hossein Tehrani, took 20 years ago.
Tehrani’s trip to the Iranian province of Khuzestan made him to direct ‘World, Northern Hemisphere’ with the theme of racism.
The actors were selected from among the local children of the region; and for selecting the right person, the film’s crew had to test some 2000 students. A number of 30 individuals were finally selected to make a class.
Also three young theater actors from Tehran joined the cast of the film.
The film has taken part in the 34th edition of Tokyo Film Festival in Japan.
The CICFF is an Oscar-qualifying children’s film festival that hosts international works.
Each year, the CICFF presents a selection of high-quality films for children, teens, and adults, featuring over 250 films from 40 countries.
The 2021 edition of the event is scheduled for November 5-14, 2021.
